150th Anniversary

2012 saw a wide range of activities taking place to mark 150 years of worship at Shrewsbury United Reformed Church

There have been a number of musical events including performances by the Church Choir and by Patchwork Children’s Choir and other local choirs.

We had a Flower Festival with the theme of anniversaries and there was the opportunity also to take part in The Labyrinth journey, a peaceful time inside and outside the church

A presentation was made to Tim Harwood, our Minister and his wife Harriet in recognition of 25 years of service at the church.

The Church raised money in this anniversary year for a Lasting Legacy towards a health project in Sierra Leone in partnership with Christian Aid.

In November we held the actual Anniversary service which was led by our URC West Midlands Moderator, Rev. Roy Lowes

Memorabilia has been on sale to mark the event and a booklet has been produced.
